The Questions Given To Me:

What would you ask for, if you knew the answer would be a Yes?

A trip around the world or a book deal.

Before making a telephone call, do you ever rehearse what you are going to say?

Invent your own word, what does it mean?

Hathe- someone you are happy to see alive but still loathe.

Given the choice of anyone in the world, whom would you want as a dinner guest?

If it could be a dead person I would want to have dinner with Mark Twain and if it has to be a living person it would probably be Seth MacFarlane.

What would you rate 10/10?

Star Wars (the original 3 movies)

What question can you ask to find out the most about a person?

What do you value most in your life?

What would be the title of the current chapter of your life?

It would probably be called “Ummm what?”

If you could make a 20-second phone call to yourself at any point in your life at present or future, When would you call and what would you say?

I would call myself back when I was depressed and self harming and tell myself that it really does get better, just keep believing and doing your best.

What’s something that happened or something that someone said, changed how you view the world?

When I first read the works of Maya Angelou my life and views of the world really changed! I realised that even though life was tough I could still achieve everything I want- I just had to fight for it.

What book impacted you the most and why?

On The Road by Jack Kerouac- it put my life and writing into perspective.

If life is a game like some people say what would some of your rules be?

Nothing good lasts but nothing bad lasts either, life is a roller-coaster of emotions, you will never truly figure out why you’re here, you will never truly understand yourself, memories are the best gift.

The Girl With The Butterfly Tattoo

She stood there looking bored

The first thing I noticed about her

Was the butterfly tattoo on her wrist

Right below her scars

She looked so consumed by pain

And yet so radiant with life

I wanted to reach out

But didn’t know how

The Girl At The Counter

There was something

About this girl

The distant look on her face

Told me she didn’t want to be bothered

But the scars on her wrists

Told me to ask her

For her story

I couldn’t help but stare

As she packed my items

I tried staring at her

Hoping she would notice

And converse

I needed to know

The truth behind this girl

Her imperfections captured me

It was as though I knew

That she was different

She wasn’t like the rest

She was a misfit

She handed me the bag

I wanted to yell out

I wanted to scream

But all I could do

Was nod and walk away

This poem is pretty self-explanatory. Whenever I meet people in general I try to figure out their story and once in a while I come across someone really fascinating like this girl.

She smiles as the wind caresses her hair

Her eyes shine as she looks up to the sky

She holds her teddy bear tightly in her hand

Her lips curl into a smile at the thought of life

She frowns at the thought of school

Her eyes fill with tears smudging her dark eyeliner

She pushes her dark dyed hair back

Her arms are filled with cuts

She’s been told she’s talentless again

Her songs are all she has

She dropped out of school years ago

Her music is her only hope

She lies on the ground ready to give up

Her phone rings on the couch

She picks it up thinking this is the last call she will ever receive

We want to sign you to our label

She is told by a distant voice

She performs for thousands of fans every night

Her eyes have got their shine back

She walks into her bedroom after kissing her kids goodnight

Her husband smiles and takes her into his arms

She’s finally truly content as she drifts off to sleep

When I was writing this poem, more than anything, I just wanted to show how quickly and drastically life can change sometimes. Also, sometimes it’s easier to give up on your dreams but the truth is dreams can come true even when you least expect it so you would rather just work really hard and achieve your dreams because that’s what’s important and that is what will give you real happiness. At the end of the day you should always do what you love and believe in yourself even when no one else does.
