I have been meaning to do this post for quite a while now because I had a couple of requests on my comments section asking me for it. So sorry it took forever and here it is- hope it helps.

For the full tutorial on how to schedule your post click here.

Scheduling your posts so that your posts go up at the optimum time for your blog is a great way to increase views and follows. Here are some ways to find the perfect time to schedule your post:

Check when your optimum reach time is- This is the easiest way to check what day and time you get the best views. In your insights section it will tell you what your most popular day and time is. Try to post at this time regularly and you will notice an increase in views.

Notice when you get more comments- Try posting at different times for a couple of days and check when you get the most comments. Comments are important because they show activity and seeing when you get the most comments will help you figure out when your audience is most active and therefore you can schedule your post to go up at this time to increase activity on your blog.

Early bird or night owl– Most people don’t usually use WordPress throughout the day and like most social media people tend to check it in the morning before nine and in the evenings after six. Scheduling your post to go up at these times will help increase your views and follows since more people are likely

Don’t keep changing the times- Once you are able to figure out your optimum time don’t keep changing the times when you post. Schedule your posts to go up at that time every time you post so that your audience knows when to visit your blog. It is very easy to lose views/follows when you keep posting at different times.

How To Schedule Your Posts On WordPress For More View And Follows Part 1

Wow gif

I have been meaning to do this post for quite a while now because I had a couple of requests on my comments section asking me for it. So sorry it took forever and here it is- hope it helps.

I thought I would write the first part of this blog on how to actually schedule your post. WordPress can be a little tricky sometimes to get the hang of and I thought I would share this post first to help new bloggers learn how they can schedule their posts. The next post will be about the benefits of scheduling your post as well as how to schedule the perfect times for your post to get more views and follows.

  1. Once you are done writing your post on your dashboard go to the right side of the screen where it says “publish” and select the “edit” button.

2. Next pick the time and date you would like the post to be published.

3. After picking the time and date click the “OK” button.

4. After clicking ‘OK’ you will notice that blue button that usually says ‘Publish’ will have changed to ‘Schedule’. Click on the ‘Schedule’ button and this will complete the process of scheduling your post.

Let me know in the comments if this was helpful!

Blogger Recognition Award

I want to thank Pinki Jana for nominating me for this award it’s always so much fun to do! Do be sure to check out her awesome blog about books, lifestyle and more!

About the Blogger Recognition Award

The Blogger Recognition Award is an award given in recognition of all the hard work that goes into creating a blog. It is a way for bloggers to support, motivate and promote other bloggers who have clearly put in huge amounts of time and effort, and produced valuable content.
Bloggers are very talented people – they work hard, they promote, market, advertise, run a busy site.
They organise all kinds of activities, they encourage, motivate, interact, engage and are community orientated. It matters not if they are shy and reticent or loud and personable – each actively progressive blogger is the same – they all work hard and passionately with their blogs, they put the hours in to deliver to their audience each day a welcoming location to read, absorb, learn and have fun.
To escape the hustle bustles of city life, or the begrudgeries of boredom – they entice readers to peruse their pages to look for entertainment.
That is what the BRA celebrates.

The Award Rules
  • Write a post displaying your award.
  • Thank the blogger(s) who nominated you, and provide a link to their blog.
  • Tell the story of how your blog started.
  • Give two pieces of advice for new bloggers.
  • Nominate other bloggers for the award.
  • Let the nominees know that you have nominated them.
How My Blog Started

I had always loved writing and new that I wanted to write and one of my friends started a blog so I thought I would too because that would be the perfect way to start out and get better at writing as well as build an audience for my work.

My Piece Of Advice For New Bloggers
  1. Don’t give up and always do you. I know it’s not easy to give your opinions and be yourself online but you should because it’s really worth it and your readers will appreciate you being genuine.
  2. I’ve noticed a lot of bloggers these days, especially new ones, leave their links on the comments sections of other peoples posts- trust me you don’t want to do this. It’s super annoying and instead of giving you more traffic people are going to get pissed off and avoid you on purpose. Instead look for blogs that have a share and promote page and leave your link there.

4 Things You Need To Have The Perfect Blog Post

Topic- Your topic is one of the most important things about your blog post. It doesn’t matter how much of an amazing writer you are if your topic isn’t something people want to read about. If you are looking to increase followers and traffic I would suggest looking into what topics are the most popular and writing on those. Not to say other topics aren’t great if you can pull it off feel free to write about unique topics. However, statistically already popular topics are much more likely to get you more traffic and followers.

Title- The title will decide whether or not someone will click on your post so make sure the title is catchy and will make the reader click. How-To’s and lists are usually very popular. However, don’t lie in your title because click baits are annoying and will probably make people unfollow you.

Introduction- The introduction is also very important because a lot of people don’t read past it if it’s not interesting enough. Make sure it precise and well edited so there are no spelling or grammar mistakes because this can be a huge turn off to readers.

Conclusion- A lot of people seem to skip this but I think including a conclusion is a really great way to summarize your post and let the reader know what your concluding arguments/thoughts.opinions are. Plus if you have a great conclusion you are much more likely to get likes/follows.

How To Write The Perfect About Me Page

For a sample of an About Me page check out mine by clicking here.

Introduce yourself- Be sure to introduce who you are and why you began the blog. You can tell the reader a little bit more about yourself and your life as well. If you want the blog to be anonymous you can share why you would like to keep it anonymous as well as what motivated you to start the blog.

Image result for hello gif

Tell the reader what to expect from your blog- The reader probably at this point wants to know more about your blog and what they will expect to read/see on it so be sure to let them know what topics you plan to write about. If you aren’t sure exactly what topics you will write on give them an idea of what to expect but be sure to explain that you’ll write about other things as well. Don’t worry too much about being accurate about this because you can always come back and edit this page once you are more sure about what you’ll be writing about.

Tell the reader more about your hobbies and interests- The reason someone clicked on your About Me page is because they want to know more about you so be sure to share your interests and things you like (or don’t like!). If your blog is anonymous maybe you can share a few things you don’t mind sharing or skip this part altogether.

Be precise- It’s easy to ramble on when you’re making this kind of a page (I had to do multiple edits on mine!) so try to edit out the unnecessary stuff and stick to introducing yourself, talking about your interests and what to expect from the blog.

Share your social media pages or email address- It’s always a good idea to leave ways to contact you at the end of the page such as links to your social media or your email address. This will help drive traffic to your social media pages as well as help your readers contact you more easily.

Blogger Love | Why Your Posts Aren’t Getting Engagement & How to Boost Engagement

These are great tips and thank you so much for the mention!

The Newbury Girl

As a blogger, there is nothing more disappointing than pouring your heart and soul into a blog post that performs poorly in terms of engagement. Not only can this be a frustrating experience, but it has the potential to dishearten or dissuade you from blogging in the future. As we all know, failure is a liar that tells us to doubt ourselves and our abilities, when in reality most blogging “failure” is (1) arbitrary and (2) not content related. If you’re frustrated with your low blog post engagement, please keep reading.

Five Reasons Why Your Posts Aren’t Engaging

How To Find Blog Post Ideas

Continuing With M.E

How do I find blog post ideas? What can I write about? Would things I want to write actually be an interesting blog post topic? Will having pre planned ideas help my blogging?

These are questions I’ve been wondering and asking myself ever since I started blogging and since I made the decision to come back to my blog. Part of my reason for blogging is because I like having an outlet to place my thoughts but the other part is a desire to create content that other people will enjoy.

So I decided to sit down and actually figure out what I wanted to do with this blog. What I envisioned sharing and what I personally found interesting. Since doing that I came up with a few ideas to help find that next idea I could write about.
