I just want to take a minute to thank all my amazing followers out there! When I first started this blog I didn’t know what to expect or if it would even work out but I’m so glad I stuck with blogging. It has opened up a whole new world for me. I have made so many friends from around the world that I would otherwise have never known. I’ve learnt so much too and have got so much inspiration from you guys! Thank you for always supporting me and my writing. When I see the likes, follows, shares and comments it really lifts me up and makes a difference in my life. Thank you all for everything and I hope you guys continue to support the blog.

I also want to say there are some changes coming to the blog! I am adding a few new categories which means I’ll be blogging more often now- everyday minus the weekends if possible! I’m really excited about that and don’t worry I’ll still be doing all the other stuff I did, these are just some additions to that!

Lifesfinewhine Is Officially On Instagram!

So I finally decided to join Instagram! To check out my profile click here.

I decided to join because firstly I wanted to share my blog posts on it and secondly I thought it would be fun to share a bit more of my life and what I’m doing because as much as I try to share on my blog I can’t really share everything I do every 20 seconds because that would be weird and slightly annoying but totally normal on Instagram! 😂

I also wanted to sort of make more memories and I thought this would give me more incentive to go out more often and also try new things. It also help me kind of document my life and this way I have pictures/videos to look back at and remember stuff and smile!

I am also planning on sharing vegan and vegetarian recipes as well as some posts about makeup (like tips and my favourite brands) because I feel like Instagram would be better for that then my blog.

Ode To Anxiety

It was a struggle at first

But now my old friend visits

Again and again

Leaving me helpless in pain

Food becomes foe

And nights a sweaty drench

Laughter leaves the soul

Eyes are fogged and blank

I learn to laugh again

Feels good

Like emerging from a black hole

Learning to see again

Stronger I am and more confident

It will come again I know

But it’ll never take me back

I know

This is another awesome poem by MistryLand who hadn’t written for a while but I’m so glad she’s writing again! It’s so relatable and descriptive and really captures what having anxiety feels like.

So one of my friends who also writes some posts on this blog has an amazing account on Tapastic which is a site where you can make comic strips. I just really wanted to share them with you because her work is just so awesome and I really hope you guys will love it as much as I do and subscribe to her. You can subscribe using your email or Facebook account.

Not only does she make funny comics like the above one but she also makes some very relatable ones that I feel like most people can really relate to. She tackles everything from social awkwardness to a bad hair day.

Devastated

It is hard to believe what they say

With every sentence uttered

From their perfectly synchronized lips

That the fate of humanity could be so cruel

Their actions carried out against our brothers and sisters

Out somewhere are real

I can not hear them anymore

It’s better to switch the channel

To shut out the agonizing truth of their life

From mine.

If I don’t hear it, it’s not true

If I don’t see it, it’s not true

Their tortured pathetic life is now a fictional story

But does it?

Do they stop seeing their loved ones from being slaughtered

Every

Single

Day?

To live within rules

Confined and suffocated

And it makes me so mad

That all I can do is watch them

No words to sympathize with them

For words lost all meaning when

Their slaughtered blood dripped on their beloved soil

I know I normally post poetry on Friday but I was really busy yesterday and I just needed to share this amazing poem by Mistryland so I posted today!

A Rainy Day

Under the dark greying mass

I look out

As the rain unleashes its temper

Protected behind my window

As if looking past another world

The beats gradually increase

Performing a tribal dance as if memorized

Or perhaps like pots and pans

Falling with a clatter

Time stands still

Or maybe it’s the traffic

A pink finger appears

And draws a smile

On the fogged window

I draw back a ‘hello’

A curtain of rain between us

Protected behind our windows

This poem was written on a journey through the rain in a car but it is also symbolic of strangers who connect through nature but still are afraid to truly be themselves. We are so scared of revealing our true self that we often unconsciously build walls to protect ourselves and block others out.

The Unborns

The Unborns

She was expecting a baby

She was going to paint her room pink

She would have been her little princess

Until she was born dead

The world was still

The tears were dry

It didn’t matter anymore

Because she was born dead

She stopped crying at the park

Where little girls ran to their mother

She stopped question herself

Why was she born dead?

She gave birth to a son

He was her little prince

But when she went to sleep that night

Her little girl ran into her arms in her dreams

This poem is about a woman who has a miscarriage and how it impacts her life and how she deals with it. I thought it was beautifully raw and painfully emotional.

PS: I know I only post poetry on Friday and I was going to originally post my review of Jessica Jones but I’m really sick right now (I have a cold) and I have to revise for my tests so I think I’m going to be posting poetry for some time because I really don’t have the time or energy to post anything else. Thanks for bearing with me 🙂

I Am Lost

I am lost in the world of my thoughts

Thinking of anything and nothing

It’s a mess up there

And I don’t know how to sort it out

People say I am very quiet

They don’t understand the noise in my head

It’s a storm clashing with ships

It’s a hatching of an egg as the offspring peeps out

What is that voice?

That talks to me in the chaos

Where did it come from?

Had it always been there?

I cease to exist in the real world

I am lost

In the world

Of my thoughts

This poem is mainly about what it feels like to be a quiet person who is very loud inside their own head. In my opinion quiet people are always lost in their own thoughts because they never stop thinking. As an introvert who is mostly very quiet I am just constantly thinking and sometimes I even forget that I am around other people.

Devastation

With words lapping like waves on the sand

I don’t understand the fire in my heart

It feels like a rows of buildings collapsing from the sky

Like a puzzle made by a child

And here I am standing in the mist of it all

Wondering where it all went wrong

This urge to grip my flesh

And pull it down in vain

To lessen the burden of pain

The shining stars turn to silver daggers

Close the curtains

I cannot bear it anymore

This feeling that budded so softly

In the pits of my womb

That turned into a mad, craving monster

Tearing me apart

Like the fireworks

That rip open the sky

I am going mad in this spiral of words

Whipping me back and forth

But please

Tell me what I did wrong

I’m a sunken ship in a battle of fleets

All I came for was a little bit of love

My heart has sunk into the depths of darkness

Enveloped by slimy, black hands

Strangled by black veins cherishing my love

I am devastated

This deep and thought provoking poem is about how as we grow up we sometimes begin to change for the worse without even realizing it. We conform to society, we let our individuality and creativity die, we forget who we are to be what everyone else wants us to be. But it destroys us on the inside, slowly drowning us in the depths of our own repression. By the time we realize this it can sometimes be too late and that is why we must consciously make a decision to be different, to stay unique, to make ourselves happy before we try to please others.
