Wow gif

I have been meaning to do this post for quite a while now because I had a couple of requests on my comments section asking me for it. So sorry it took forever and here it is- hope it helps.

For the full tutorial on how to schedule your post click here.

Scheduling your posts so that your posts go up at the optimum time for your blog is a great way to increase views and follows. Here are some ways to find the perfect time to schedule your post:

Check when your optimum reach time is- This is the easiest way to check what day and time you get the best views. In your insights section it will tell you what your most popular day and time is. Try to post at this time regularly and you will notice an increase in views.

Notice when you get more comments- Try posting at different times for a couple of days and check when you get the most comments. Comments are important because they show activity and seeing when you get the most comments will help you figure out when your audience is most active and therefore you can schedule your post to go up at this time to increase activity on your blog.

Early bird or night owl– Most people don’t usually use WordPress throughout the day and like most social media people tend to check it in the morning before nine and in the evenings after six. Scheduling your post to go up at these times will help increase your views and follows since more people are likely

Don’t keep changing the times- Once you are able to figure out your optimum time don’t keep changing the times when you post. Schedule your posts to go up at that time every time you post so that your audience knows when to visit your blog. It is very easy to lose views/follows when you keep posting at different times.

How To Schedule Your Posts On WordPress For More View And Follows Part 1

Wow gif

I have been meaning to do this post for quite a while now because I had a couple of requests on my comments section asking me for it. So sorry it took forever and here it is- hope it helps.

I thought I would write the first part of this blog on how to actually schedule your post. WordPress can be a little tricky sometimes to get the hang of and I thought I would share this post first to help new bloggers learn how they can schedule their posts. The next post will be about the benefits of scheduling your post as well as how to schedule the perfect times for your post to get more views and follows.

  1. Once you are done writing your post on your dashboard go to the right side of the screen where it says “publish” and select the “edit” button.

2. Next pick the time and date you would like the post to be published.

3. After picking the time and date click the “OK” button.

4. After clicking ‘OK’ you will notice that blue button that usually says ‘Publish’ will have changed to ‘Schedule’. Click on the ‘Schedule’ button and this will complete the process of scheduling your post.

Let me know in the comments if this was helpful!

How To Write The Perfect About Me Page

For a sample of an About Me page check out mine by clicking here.

Introduce yourself- Be sure to introduce who you are and why you began the blog. You can tell the reader a little bit more about yourself and your life as well. If you want the blog to be anonymous you can share why you would like to keep it anonymous as well as what motivated you to start the blog.

Tell the reader what to expect from your blog- The reader probably at this point wants to know more about your blog and what they will expect to read/see on it so be sure to let them know what topics you plan to write about. If you aren’t sure exactly what topics you will write on give them an idea of what to expect but be sure to explain that you’ll write about other things as well. Don’t worry too much about being accurate about this because you can always come back and edit this page once you are more sure about what you’ll be writing about.

Tell the reader more about your hobbies and interests- The reason someone clicked on your About Me page is because they want to know more about you so be sure to share your interests and things you like (or don’t like!). If your blog is anonymous maybe you can share a few things you don’t mind sharing or skip this part altogether.

Be precise- It’s easy to ramble on when you’re making this kind of a page (I had to do multiple edits on mine!) so try to edit out the unnecessary stuff and stick to introducing yourself, talking about your interests and what to expect from the blog.

Share your social media pages or email address- It’s always a good idea to leave ways to contact you at the end of the page such as links to your social media or your email address. This will help drive traffic to your social media pages as well as help your readers contact you more easily.

5 Mistakes Bloggers Should Never Make

If you’re a blogger and especially if you’re starting out chances are you may not have even realised you are making these mistakes. Here are five things you should definitely avoid doing.

Not being active– If you are not active on other peoples blog than you can’t expect them to be active on yours. Blogging is definitely a two way street and being active can get you a much larger audience as well as followers. If you’re not active your blog will take longer to grow.

Image result for typing gif

Commenting– As I mentioned be active but don’t spam people with comments that have nothing to do with their comments. A lot of new bloggers end up leaving their link on other peoples posts and it really does not help to do that because it can get a little annoying especially when you do it constantly. Instead leave genuine comments about the post and that will be more likely to lead them back to your blog. If you do want to share your blog you can check if they have a share and promote page which would be the appropriate place to leave your link.

Tags– As I always say tags are super duper important! Make sure you don’t overdo it with the tags though because WordPress will assume you’re spamming and leave your post out of the recommended tags section. I’ve realised that the perfect amount is ten but take a look at what works for you and tag accordingly.

Copying posts/not giving credit to the source– This is a huge no. Don’t ever do this. It is horrible to take credit for another bloggers work. If you are inspired by it and want to share it there is always the option to repost/reblog the original post or if you decide to copy and paste make sure you have the bloggers permission and give them credit for their work.

Spamming followers with posts- It’s great to post regularly but honestly the majority of your followers probably don’t want to see like 20 posts from you everyday. I would suggest don’t post more than once a day and definitely don’t post more than once an hour. You may end up getting traffic/followers for a while because you’re in the algorithm but it will mess up your blog on the long run and decrease activity.

How To Make Your Posts More Interesting

Catchy titles– The title is the first thing your reader is going to read and you don’t want to lose them so make sure you use a catchy title that will make them read further on. Please don’t use annoying puns that are not funny because that’s just annoying…

Images/GIF’s– using images and gif’s on your post are the best way to spice them up and keep the reader interested. Images/gif’s are a great way to keep your article light and increase engagement.

Popular topics- Even though it is totally okay to write about more unique topics it would help to write about popular topics if you are interested in increasing your traffic/followers. They tend to get way more traffic especially if you’re using the right tags.

Don’t try too hard– it’s totally okay to try and do your best but sometimes overthinking your post shows in your post. A lot of people don’t want to read something that overdone or has too many details because a lot of people prefer short, precise and direct posts so try to keep it short and to the point.

Blogger Love | Why Your Posts Aren’t Getting Engagement & How to Boost Engagement

These are great tips and thank you so much for the mention!

The Newbury Girl

As a blogger, there is nothing more disappointing than pouring your heart and soul into a blog post that performs poorly in terms of engagement. Not only can this be a frustrating experience, but it has the potential to dishearten or dissuade you from blogging in the future. How To Find Blog Post Ideas

Continuing With M.E

How do I find blog post ideas? What can I write about? Would things I want to write actually be an interesting blog post topic? Will having pre planned ideas help my blogging?

These are questions I’ve been wondering and asking myself ever since I started blogging and since I made the decision to come back to my blog. Part of my reason for blogging is because I like having an outlet to place my thoughts but the other part is a desire to create content that other people will enjoy.

So I decided to sit down and actually figure out what I wanted to do with this blog. What I envisioned sharing and what I personally found interesting. Since doing that I came up with a few ideas to help find that next idea I could write about.

There is a range of things I find interesting or…
