My 100th Post!!

I’m so glad I started blogging and cannot believe I have written so many blogs already. Honestly when I started blogging I wasn’t sure I would even get any followers and I wasn’t sure whether I would actually continue blogging either but I’m so happy that I did keep blogging because writing a new post is usually the most fun part of my day. I actually started blogging because one of my friends was doing it too and that was when I started thinking a lot about my future. I honestly love writing and at that point I knew that I wanted to write somehow and since I was still in school I thought blogging would be a good start. I didn’t want to be one of those people who always say they want to be a writer and then end up getting a boring job they don’t enjoy doing. I have changed a lot in the last year and have become more comfortable with myself then I have ever been before. There was a time when I was so lost and really hated myself but I feel like I am finally at peace now and even though I am not completely done finding my true self I feel like at least I am on the right path and I am doing what makes me happy. Since I started blogging I have also been trying new things in my personal life that I usually wouldn’t do or would be scared to do like talking to new people, making big decisions, learning to cook and I think blogging helped me with this because it gave me the strength to do all these things. I felt like if I could write and blog I could do other things that scared me too. Anyway, I just really want to thank all my followers for taking the time to read my blogs and leaving so much feedback! You guys are amazing!

Here are some quotes to brighten your day:

The Ramblings Of An Insomniac

Why are we here?

What am I doing with my life?

I should really clean my cupboard tomorrow

What outfit should I wear tomorrow?

I should stop binge watching stuff

What time is it?

If I fall asleep now I can still get enough sleep

What year was the Berlin Wall torn down?

Why are humans so annoying?

Why am I still not asleep?

What if I never succeed?

What if I have to drop out of college?

What if I never become a psychologist?

And have to work as a receptionist forever

What am I doing with my life?

Why am I here?

What am I going to post tomorrow?

Maybe I should write a post about this…

I have a lot of trouble falling asleep and I usually think way too much instead of trying to fall asleep so I decided to write about it. I really have a hard time calming down and my brain just refuses to stop sometimes.

Saw this awesome post and knew I had to share it!

Hey everyone, I posted this video about body shaming. This video is a bit longer than the last few because this is such a large topic discussion and I wanted to make sure I got my point across, and didn’t rush through it. Body shaming is horrible and we need to learn to expand our […]

How To Survive High School

So as most of you know I recently just finished high school and graduated and even though I’ve had some of my best memories in high school I know firsthand how much high school can suck. I mean with all your hormones going insane and all the changes you’re going through high school can be really tough and so I decided to share some of the things that helped me get through high school:

Ignore the ‘cool kids’– find your true self instead of trying to fit in with them because trust me they are not the kind of friends you want to have in the future. Instead of trying so hard to socialize and fit in do things you are actually interested in. Instead of joining the club everyone else is joining, join a club you’re actually interested in because believe me these are the moments you will remember in the future.

Befriend the nerds and outcasts– like I said earlier you do not need to be friends with the popular kids but you definitely want to be friends with the not-so-popular crowd. To be honest they are way more fun to be around, they’re accepting and they will help you find yourself. Plus you’ll probably have more things in common with them and more things to talk to them about. Behind they’re ‘uncool’ exterior lies a pretty awesome interior.

Books over looks– I know this is going to sound cliché but honestly you’re in school for a reason. You don’t have to be a book worm or anything but at least try to make an effort to do well in your studies because to be honest grades mean a lot in this world and even though education shouldn’t have this much emphasis put on it, it does. You will definitely at some point regret not getting good grades so it’s okay to worry about and put time into the way you look but don’t do this at the cost of studying.

Hobbies– pay a lot of attention to what you enjoy doing most because this will be an important clue as to what you should do in the future. I’ve always enjoyed writing as well as history and psychology and that’s how I figured out what I am going to be doing in university. Don’t let anyone sway you into doing something you don’t enjoy- instead work hard to achieve your dreams.

Be yourself– please don’t try to be someone else in an attempt to impress others. Believe me it is not worth it. You’ll only be miserable pretending to be something you’re not. No matter who you are you will find someone who accepts you for you and that person will mean more to you than all the people who like the fake you.

Eat to your hearts content– seriously I don’t even have to explain this because (at least to me) food solves everything and that chocolate will seriously help you get through high school.

Acceptance– In the end you just have to accept that whether you like it or not, not everyone is going to like you and the faster you accept that the better. Not everyone will like you but not everyone’s opinion should matter to you. The most important thing is that you like you and that will seriously make high school so much easier to survive.

Change

The soft feeling in your fingertips

The numbness in your mind

The beating in your heart

The adrenaline in your blood

The slight tremble of your legs

Feel it

Embrace it

Love it

This is the first poem I’ve written in quite a while and it’s basically about what it feels like to have things change. I mean change can be the most scary thing in the world but it can also simultaneously be the greatest thing ever and sometimes you need embrace it.

Endings And Beginnings

My exams just ended today and honestly I could not be more relieved. This was my last year in school and honestly even though I am really torn up about leaving high school I have to admit I am also looking forward to the future. I feel like this is the beginning of the rest of my life and it’s really exciting.

I decided to take some time off before going to university and even though at first I wasn’t so sure about it I’m really glad I decided to wait. There is so much I wanted to do when I was in school that I didn’t have time to do and now I finally have some time to do all the things I want before university. I feel like once I start university I’m really not going to have much time and after that I’ll be working so right now feels like the best time to achieve a lot of my goals.

So, I really actually just wrote this post mainly to say that I’m going to be blogging regularly again now that my exams are over and I will definitely write at least two posts a week. I am really looking forward to posting again because honestly, writing has always been my favorite thing to do and it always makes me feel better.
